I attended UTSA and got a BFA degree with a concentration in photography. I've used computers since I was young, starting with a Commodore 64, so after college I found myself drawn into working with them despite my art major. I started out doing photo editing and graphic art, then web design. I taught myself Flash Actionscript and I found it to be rewarding work. I worked with Flash for a bit over a decade before it fell out of favor due to the rise of mobile and its lack of support there. As Flash was on the way out, I transitioned to working in Javascript and related front end libraries and applications. I enjoy helping to solve problems and find solutions to bring data onto screens in ways that are both user-friendly and look great across desktop and mobile devices. In my free time I enjoy hobbies such as wood crafts, home improvement, martial arts, hiking, mountain biking, blacksmithing, and photography.
I am seeking to join a company that strives not only to deliver the best for their customers, but to push the envelope and explore emerging technologies to stay fresh and exciting. I have two decades of experience in web graphics/design/development. Some of the interactive web applications I’ve worked on include: custom configurators (business cards, greeting cards, stationery, bank checks, promotional products), e-commerce checkout flow, e-learning (quizzes, exams, games, activities, and learning modules), personal and business websites, and custom photo galleries. I enjoy working as a front end developer and getting to see a design vision turn into an interactive live application. I strive to develop and create the most optimal user experience, using the latest technology, and to write clear concise code that is optimized and well documented.
